Real de Catorce is a town in the state of San Luis Potosí, in central Mexico. It is located on a desert plateau in the Sierra de Catorce and was a prosperous colonial core of silver mining. The villa is accessed through the long Ogarrio tunnel, which passes through the surrounding peaks. The 18th-century Parroquia de la Inmaculada Concepción houses the sanctuary of San Francisco de Asís, a popular pilgrimage site.
